Discussion 4- Logic and Critical Thinking

Q This week we are continuing on with Chapter 2. The second part of Chapter 2 is all about different types of definitions. This material is covered in a logic class like ours because there are logical errors that are associated with mistakes in definitions or a lack of clarity. For this discussion forum, I am asking you to reflect on your own experience. Give an example in your life, experience, or the media where the definition of a word really made a difference to some outcome. Was there a mistake in clarity? Was there some other kind of mistake in conveying the meaning of the term to another person? Here is an example from the media. (Links to an external site.) This is a controversial example because many people thought that Clinton's claim here was ad hoc.
